About the Artist
Sathya N Prabhu
Contemporary Artist | Chennai, India.
Master of Fine Arts (MFA), TNJJMFAU, Chennai.
In the peaceful villages of southern Tamil Nadu, life flourishes in harmony with nature, tradition, and community. Surrounded by lush green fields, whispering trees, gentle hills, flowing springs, and sacred village deities, these landscapes hold a timeless beauty where every sunrise reflects simplicity and serenity. Agriculture and fishing are more than occupations here — they are deeply woven into the spirit and identity of the land.
At the heart of this vibrant rural life are the village women — graceful, resilient, and full of warmth. Beyond their daily responsibilities, they create moments of joy through storytelling, folk songs, shared meals, temple visits, and colorful festival celebrations beneath shady trees and along village verandas.
With love and care, they pass on age-old customs and values to future generations. Through my work, I celebrate these meaningful moments and the enduring bond between people, culture, tradition, and the land they call home.
